The most refined color in the Saturnino series. The light violet version a delicate lavender-to-amethyst sphere resting in a clear crystal ring has a gemstone quality that the amber and black versions approach differently: where amber glows and black absorbs, the light violet refracts, shifting between pale lilac and warm lavender as the angle of observation changes. Ring diameter 20 cm, sphere diameter 10 cm, total 2 kg of pure crystal. The sphere and ring are balanced by weight with no mechanical connection between them a combination of physical precision and visual fragility that is the defining characteristic of the Saturnino and Saturno objects. In light violet, the sphere has a smooth surface rather than the craquelé of the amber version the crystal is clear and uninterrupted, the color alone providing the depth and interest. When the sphere is lifted from the ring, it becomes a small lavender crystal vase for a single flower. Each crystal is mouth-blown into an original cast iron mould from a historic Italian glassware workshop active since 1945 each shape comes to life through a single breath.
